Primary Server

DataLock's primary server runs proprietary backup software and is housed in a secure and protected environment. Internet connectivity allows in excess of 112,500 backups per day and night. Multiple disk arrays protected by the ZFS file system and RAIDZ2 for full redundancy and bit-level, file-level and sector-level integrity. Maximum uptime with triple hot-swappable power supplies, multiple CPUs, spare memory banks and multiple hot-swappable blowers.

Replication Server

For added protection and system redundancy, DataLock replicates all data to a secondary security server in Wellington, New Zealand. All data is transferred between the two servers in real time, via 1024-bit SSL encryption.

Provider Replication Server

Many local DataLock providers give you the option of replicating additional copies of your data to their own local servers. In the event of file loss, you can save time and bandwidth by restoring large files from your provider's local copy.

Client Software

DataLock's software works exclusively with DataLock's primary server. The software monitors file activity on the client system and at scheduled times throughout the day, uploads only the smallest of adjustments within changed files. All data is encrypted for privacy using 128/256-bit AES encryption and then replicated through a 1024-bit SSL certified Internet portal.

Local Copy

DataLock can automatically create local copies of your data on a NAS device or direct attached storage unit. In the event of file loss, you can save time and bandwidth by restoring large files from your local copy rather than downloading them online.
